About Zonta

Zonta International headquarters are located in Illinois, U.S.A. and worldwide there are 1,100 Zonta clubs in 63 countries working to improve the lives of women and girls in their local communities.

The organization is non-political and non-sectarian. An International Convention of members takes place every 2 years in various locations, during which a new President and Board with representation from across the world are elected and biennium goals set. The most recent International Convention was held in June 2024 in Brisbane. www.zonta.org

Each club is part of a District, (Australia has 3 Districts) which are then divided into Areas. The Zonta club of Melbourne’s West is one of 5 areas in District 23, Area 1. In addition to the International Convention, Zonta members come together every 2 years at a District Conference, and annually at an Area meeting. The next District 23 Conference will be held in Devonport, Tasmania in September 2025.

See more information about our District here: www.zontadistrict23.org.au

Zonta International envisions a future in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is literate and able to achieve her full potential with equal opportunity to access education, health care, legal and economic resources and to live without fear of gender based violence.
