Mental Health First Aid Training

Zonta Club of Melbourne’s West received grants from Hobsons Bay City Council and Ford Global Giving to sponsor community members to complete their accreditations in Mental Health First Aid. There were 4 successful training sessions, each held over 2 days, with up to 20 participants in each. The certificated course is run by Mental Health First Aid Australia trained facilitators to equip participants to recognise, support and refer people in the community who are struggling with depression, anxiety and other mental health related issues. This initiative was a great success.

Launched in 2012, the campaign has raised awareness of the global pandemic of women's rights violations and has united Zonta clubs worldwide in conducting impactful advocacy actions to fight violence against women and gender inequality. During the 16 Days of Activism, 25 November - 10 December, all Zonta clubs and districts are encouraged to take local, national and international actions to influence lawmakers as well as advocate to change gender based behaviors to end violence against women and girls.
